MILTON, Mass. — John Dusel recorded 12 saves in the first half and David Pearson shut out Curry College the rest of the way as the University of New England logged a 9-4 Commonwealth Coast Conference men’s lacrosse victory on Tuesday evening at Walter Katz Field.

The Nor’easters (8-7) won for the fourth time in five contests, and now stand level at 3-3 in conference outings. After a string of six losses in a row to the Colonels (4-9, 1-5 CCC), UNE has gone 4-1 in the series ever since.

It was the second straight game that Pearson (seven saves) had entered in the third quarter and Big Blue held its opponent off the scoreboard to preserve a lead.

Tied at 1-1 late in the opening period, the Nor’easters received goals from Dan Auger, Andrew Curro, and Shamus Higginbottom in a span of 54 seconds to jump out in front 4-1.

Curry battled back in the second half, out-shooting the visitors by a 17-9 margin and closing the deficit to 6-4.

For the Colonels, Dominick Marcella, Brandon Flaim, Ronald Jensen, and Jeffery Yates scored. Daniel Martin posted 19 saves between the pipes.
