HARPSWELL — Elsie E. Brown, 94, of Cundy’s Harbor, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015, surrounded by her daughters. She was born in West Point, on Dec. 18, 1920, the 12th child of Herman Sr. and Inez (Gilliam) Smith. She grew up in West Point and attended Phippsburg schools.

Elsie married her soul mate, Raymond Brown, and the couple resided in West Point to raise their family.

Elsie felt privileged to be a stay at home mom, she took pride in her children. She loved to sew, and made all of their clothing, herself, with love. She loved to cook, family mealtime was always a feast. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t have done for her family.

In 1956, the family moved to Cundy’s Harbor to be closer to the Brown family. Elsie and Raymond enjoyed the many get togethers, being with family and friends, sing-a-longs, music, dancing, and especially Christmas parties. She was a special lady, someone who gave more to others than for herself. She will be sadly missed. We love you Mama!

Elsie is predeceased by her husband, Raymond; a son, Herman Brown; nine sisters and two brothers.
