OCEAN PARK, Maine — Charles J. Glavin Jr., 62, formerly of Brunswick, died unexpectedly after suffering a massive heart attack at work on Wednesday, April 15, 2015.

He was the son of Charles J. and Christine Cavanaugh Glavin. Raised in Worcester, he was a graduate of the class of 1970 at Assumption Prep School and received a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University.

He is survived by his daughter, Hannah, and a son, Brendan, both of Brunswick; his brother Michael T. and his wife, Mary, and their sons, 2nd Lt. Matthew T. Glavin, U.S. Army of Watertown, NY and Daniel J. and David Glavin of Sterling, MA; his sisters, Julie A. Glavin and Margaret M. Glavin of Worcester and Patricia M. Glavin of Holden, MA and his former wife, Sara Cyr Glavin of Brunswick. In addition, he leaves numerous cousins, and lifelong friends.

Charles was the former owner of Advantage Payroll Systems in Topsham. Most recently, he was a sales representative in the Portland area.

Charlie loved a good book, the beaches of Maine and Sanibel, FL, the Red Sox and above all his two children. He was a devoted dad and friend.

Friends are invited to visit from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev.
