DRESDEN — Windy B. Skillin of Dresden, age 51, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 9, 2015. Windy was born in Portsmouth, VA, on July 28, 1963, to Breese B. and Mary Nancy (Williams) Skillin. In 1977, the family moved to his father’s hometown of Phippsburg, ME.

After attending schools in the Portsmouth area, Windy attended Morse High School in Bath where he was an active member of the school’s rifle team. Later in Windy’s high school career he was a proud member of the Bath Police Cadet Program.

Windy worked as a heating oil and propane delivery man most of his life but his true passion was his work instructing firearm safety and defense courses. Windy loved to teach and see his students build confidence and succeed.

The other great passion of Windy’s life was being a dad. Windy was always at the ready to help his kids succeed, whether that meant coaching his sons’ first soccer team or being grill master at his daughters’ Sea Cadet picnics, he would be there with a smile on his face.

Windy enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking and generally being outdoors. Best of all, Windy loved a full house for family dinners. Windy truly believed that there was always room for one more in his home and in his heart.

Windy is predeceased by his grandmother, Themla Skillin, his parents and his brother Breese B. Skillin Jr. He is survived by his son Jarod M. Skillin, son Nickolas B. Skillin, daughter Sirena L. Skillin, his son-in-law Scott D. Woodard, daughter Windy A. Skillin, daughter Samantha A. Skillin, honorary daughter Amanda Adair Melton and his girlfriend Linda Rall, as well as aunts and uncles and many cousins.
