BIDDEFORD — Rachel Rejeanne Dee, 83, of Biddeford, died Saturday evening on April 25, 2015 in her home following a prolonged illness, surrounded by her husband and children.
She was born in Biddeford on April 30, 1931, the daughter of Ernest and Albertine Parent L’Heureux. She was educated in Biddeford schools, graduated from Biddeford High School and Nasson College in Springvale.
On Sept. 10, 1949, she married Robert Dee in St. Andre’s Church in Biddeford.
Mrs. Dee was a homemaker. She also worked several years with Saco Defense Corp. in Saco and Corning Components/AVX in Biddeford until her retirement in 1995.
Rachel was an avid flower gardener, and most importantly, a loving grandmother, mother and wife who cherished time with her family. Her favorite times of the year were the holidays and the annual family lobster feed.
She is preceded in death by: her sisters, Fernande (Mae), Rena, Anita, and Claire; and brothers, Ralph, Dennis and Paul.
She is survived by: her husband of 65 years, of Biddeford; five daughters, Carol Mott of Kennebunk, Linda White and her husband Gary of Eliot, Kathy Ouellette and her husband Ron of Biddeford, Patty Rector and her husband Bill of Forth Worth, Texas, and Karen Holbrook of Montclair, Virginia; three sons, Rodney Dee and his wife Priscilla of Leland, North Carolina, Michael Dee and his wife Rachel of Alfred, and John Dee and his wife Susan of Biddeford; a sister, Germaine Collard of Biddeford; three brothers, Roger L’Heureux and his wife Noella of Biddeford, Norman L’Heureux of Saco, and Conrad L’Heureux of Biddeford; nine grandchildren, Stacey Tamburro, Kristen Streit, Lindsay Kennan, Ashley White, Michelle Crowell, Eric Ouellette, Michael Dee, Joshua Holbrook and Alyssa Holbrook; and seven great-grandchildren, Nicholas Crowell, Anthony Crowell, Nolan Streit, Emerson Streit, Allie Kennan, Jace Tamburro, and Brady Ouellette.
Visiting Hours will be 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 30 at Hope Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 1 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford.
