BRUNSWICK — Beulah Bernice “Bea” Ambs, 76, a resident of Water Street in Brunswick, formerly a longtime resident of St. Louis, MO, died Saturday, April 25, 2015, at her residence. She was born on Sept. 29, 1938, in Rosedale, IN, a daughter of Virgil L. and Mary J. (Street) Benthall.
She was educated in St. Louis City schools and graduated from Hickey High School with the class of 1957.
Beulah had been employed for many years as a bookkeeper in St. Louis and moved to Brunswick in 2006 where she had been employed as a sales clerk at Sears in Brunswick for five years until her declining health forced her to retire.
She was an avid reader, appreciated antique items and spent many hours scouring thrift shops and antique shops in search of hidden treasures. Beulah had a kind heart and loved children. She held a special place in her heart for animals and was a continued supporter of the ASPCA.
Survivors include two sons, Scott O. and his wife Debra Ambs of Brunswick, Mark M. Ambs of Tacoma, WA, a daughter Tracy A. and her husband Mike Brown of St. Louis, MO, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
