Margaretha M. Bubar passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, April 28, 2015, at Horizons in Brunswick.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harold F. Bubar, to whom she was married for 58 years. In addition, she was predeceased by her parents Olaf and Frances Pearson, as well as her sister Carolyn Pangburn.

She is survived by four sons, H. Brian of Bath, Eugene and wife Sharon of Brunswick, Randy and wife Suzanne of Bowdoin, Allen and partner Peter of Topsham, and four grandchildren Tami and husband Larry of Newton , Mass., Scott and wife Kristee of Bath, Jennifer of Brunswick and Matthew and fiancée Kim of Woolwich, and eight great-grandchildren.

She was born in Newport, Maine, but spent most of her adult life in the Bath- Brunswick area. She very much enjoyed taking dance lessons from Faye Pye with her longtime friends. They often lunched together after class. She was known for her love of children, especially her grandchildren. She often cared for them and others in the neighborhood.

Her hobbies included crocheting and she and her husband loved playing cards with her sister and brotherin law when they visited Maine. Margaretha took pleasure in playing the piano and she had a great love of music that lasted her entire life.

The family would like to thank Dionne Commons and Horizons for the compassionate, loving care she received the last years of her life.

She will be buried next to her husband Harold at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 163 Mount Vernon Road, Augusta, Maine. The memorial service will take place on June 5 at 9 a.m.
