The Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands, under the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, has opened the recently renovated boat launch at the Sebago Lake State Park day area.

The renovations to the launch, which averages around 1,700 boats a season, include a new, wider concrete ramp and centrally located floats. The work has improved boaters’ ability to launch and retrieve their watercraft and has been completed in time for the 2015 open water fishing season. Due to ice, boaters and anglers can access only the Songo River and the mouth of the river on the north end of Sebago Lake. The majority of Sebago Lake remains iced in at this time.

The day area portion of the park, which is located in Casco, is open from 9 a.m. until sunset daily. Boaters and anglers can access the launch by paying the per-person day use fee or the $5 boat launch fee, whichever is less, at the entrance booth. Anglers may also access the ramp earlier than the posted times by purchasing an Early Launch Permit, available at the park.
