SANFORD — A motorcyclist suffered a head injury in an accident Thursday night.
Public safety officials responded to an accident involving a small SUV and a motorcycle around 7 p.m. Thursday night at the intersection of Main Street and Pleasant Avenue, according to a press release from the Sanford Police Department.
The driver of the motorcycle suffered a head injury and was transported by LifeFlight from Southern Maine Health Care to Maine Medical Center, according to the press release. The driver of the SUV was evaluated on scene by rescue personnel and released, according to the press release.
Police say the motorcycle driver was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The accident is under investigation.
