BIDDEFORD — Anne Marie Dery, 66, of San Antonio, Texas, and formerly of Biddeford, passed away peacefully at her home on Dec. 19, 2014 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Anne was born in Biddeford on May 19 to Lionel and Mariette Binette Dery.

She was educated in Biddeford schools and graduated from St. Andre’s High School, class of 1966.

Anne studied nursing for two years before enlisting in the U.S. Military in 1971. She traveled the world in the 22 years she served in the Army, retiring with the rank of Sergeant First Class.

In her retirement, Anne enjoyed traveling, hiking, fishing and riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle. Anne will be remembered by all as a loving, kind and generous person with a great sense of humor who cherished her time spent with friends and family.

Anne is preceded in death by: her parents; and will be dearly missed by her beloved spouse, Lee; and her adopted daughter, Ariel. She also leaves behind: three brothers, Dennis, Ronald and Donald Dery; two sisters, Elaine Lafortune and Carol Hebert; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Anne will be honored with a Military Memorial service on Sunday, May 17 at 2 p.m. at the Rachel Carson Reserve in Biddeford Pool.
