PORTLAND — A strong starting pitching performance by Miguel Sulbaran and a two-run double by Aaron Judge in the seventh inning helped lead Trenton (15-17) to a 6-3 win over the Sea Dogs (12-20) on Tuesday night at Hadlock Field.
After a 20-minute rain delay to begin the game, Trenton got off to a quick start. The Thunder scored one run in the first on a two-out, RBI single by Jake Cave, then followed up with another two-out run on an RBI single by Jose Rosario off of Sea Dogs starter Justin Haley. A costly error by Marco Hernandez in the second allowed Trenton to score two more runs and make it 4-0 after two.
Miguel Sulbaran cruised through the first five innings, allowing just two hits. After recording an out in the sixth, Carlos Asuaje singled and Jantzen Witte walked to put two Sea Dogs on base for the first time in the game. Oscar Tejeda then drilled a two-run triple to cut the Thunder lead in half. Portland made it a 4-3 deficit when Keury De La Cruz drove in Tejeda and reached on an error by Jose Rosario.
