BUCKFIELD — Sydney Tilton doubled and singled as the Richmond High School softball team earned a 6-1 East-West Conference win over rival Buckfield on Wednesday.

The Bobcats, playing their first road game of the season, improved to 10-0 and visits Rangeley on Friday at 4 p.m., and Old Orchard Beach Saturday at noon.

Meranda Martin picked up the mound win, with her teammates jumping out to a 6-0 lead through four innings.

Amber Arsenault had two hits for Buckfield (7- 5).

Emmy Lashua went 3-for-3 and drove in a key run in a three-run Red Eddies seventh frame as EL downed the Eagles at Topsham in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference action.

Tied 2-2, EL (8-4) scored three runs to take a 5-2 lead.

But, Mt. Ararat, 4-8 and slated to visit Lawrence on Friday at 4 p.m., scored two in the home half of the seventh. But, Red Eddies pitcher Sarah Hammond (nine hits, 11 strikeouts, two walks) held off the rally.

Hannah Smith and Taylor Depot each singled twice for EL, while Grace Beaudet doubled.

Katelyn Cox led Mt. Ararat with three hits, including a double, while Kate Guerin had two hits and scored a run. Rhiannon Hersey went the distance with three strikeouts and one walk.

LAKE REGION 15
FREEPORT 1

Allison Morse drove in five runs as the Lakers (6-7) pulled away for a Western Maine Conference play in Freeport.

Morse doubled twice and singled, while Ashley Clark singled, doubled, tripled and drove in three, and Kaylyn Lorrain homered, doubled and singled.

Clark struck out eight, walked one and permitted seven hits.

Morgan Karnes and Bailey Karnes each doubled for Freeport, which fell to 0-11 and visits Poland on Friday at 4 p.m.

Bailey Karnes pitched, allowing 15 hits, walking five and picking up one strikeout.

LISBON 5
CARRABEC 6

Freshman catcher Bailey Dunphy belted four hits, including a triple, to lead Carrabec to a victory over Lisbon in Mountain Valley Conference action.

The Greyhounds (5-6) scored early with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning. Molly Nicholson collected a double, while Ali Sult plated two runs with a ground ball out and a single.

Freshman pitcher Sam LeBeau allowed just four hits and fanned seven batters for the Cobras (8-4). Kilee Nile contributed two singles and scored a run in the winning effort.

Lisbon hosts Boothbay on Friday (4:30 p.m.) and Winthrop on Saturday (10 a.m.).

BRUNSWICK 0
MESSALONSKEE 12

Madisyn Charest tossed a perfect game as the host Eagles downed Brunswick in KVAC action at Oakland.

Charest, pitching her first varsity game, struck out eight and helped herself at the plate with a double and two singles. MollyAn Killingbeck, Hannah Duperry, Kirsten Pelletier and Cassidy Baker also had three hits for Messalonskee (10-2).

Brunswick fell to 1-11 and visits Mt. Blue on Friday at 4 p.m. MONMOUTH 21 WISCASSET 1

Maddie Neal drove in three runs with a basesclearing double as the visiting Mustangs picked up an MVC win at Wiscasset, which dropped to 1- 11 and visits Winthrop on Friday at 4:30 p.m.

Caroline Bonenfant added a double and triple for 7-5 Monmouth, while Sarah Scott added a triple and Hannah Anderson a double.
