SACO — Thornton Academy got a strong pitching performance and some timely hitting as the Trojans took down rival Biddeford by a 5-0 score on Thursday.

Ben Lambert went the distance for Thornton Academy (9-3) as he struck out nine and allowed just four hits in seven innings of work.

The Trojans’ offense was led by Justin Cloutier and Brandon Hall, who each had an RBI single. Lambert and Mitchell Jacques also added one double apiece in the win.

Biddeford (3-9) was led by Kerry Crepeau with two hits.

Kennebunk 10, York 5

The Rams remained perfect on the season as they doubled up York.

Kyra Schwartzman and Jenny Bush led the way for Kennebunk with three goals and one assist each.

The Rams (9-0) would also get two goals and one assist from Carly Sandler and Bella Kudas stopped 10 shots in net.

South Portland 16, Sanford 7

The Sanford girls lacrosse team got three goals from two different players, but it wasn’t enough on Thursday.

Brenna Lambert scored three goals and dished out one assist and Monica Trausch also had a hat trick for the Spartans.

Maddie Leigh added the other goal for Sanford, which also got 19 saves from Eva Belanger.

South Portland had five different players find the back of the net in the victory.

Gould Academy 16, Wells 6

Gould Academy used goals from six different people to take down Wells on Thursday.

Wells got two goals from Holly Robinson and one goal each from Megan McDonald, Aimley Michaud Nolan, Mel Godin and Kylie Belanger.

Kate Schott made eight saves for the Warriors.

Girls Tennis

Fryeburg 4, Kennebunk 1

Kennebunk won the first match of the day, but Fryeburg won the final four to pick up the win.

Jenna Kuun picked up a 7-6 (2), 7-5 win over Catherine Ashley to put the Rams up 1-0, but then it was all Fryeburg.
