FAIRFIELD — The Mt. Ararat High School baseball is winless no more.
Kevin Carter capped a rally from a five-run deficit with a three-run home run to lift the Eagles to a 9-6 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference victory over Lawrence on Friday.
Down 6-1 in the fifth, Mt. Ararat (1-12) scored five runs to tie the game. Mason Griffin’s two-run single completed the comeback to set up Carter, who also singled in the win.
Dylan Earl-Johnson had two hits, including a double, while Liam Brannigan singled twice and Harper Moutal singled and drove in three runs.
On the mound, Cam Cox pitched four innings of scoreless relief, with one hit, two walks and five strikeouts.
“These guys have never given up, and I just hope we can finish strong,” said Mt. Ararat coach Bob Neron.
J.T. Nutting was 3-for-3 with two RBIs for Lawrence (3-10).
Mt. Ararat will look for its second win today at 3:30 p.m. at home against Brunswick.

The Shipbuilders exploded out of the gates for fiverun first-inning runs en route to a five inning KVAC Mercy Rule win on Friday at Thorndike.
Pitcher Jacob Cressey faced the minimum Mount View hitters over four innings of work for the win. He allowed just one hit as Morse improved to 5-7 and hosts Medomak Valley today at 4 p.m.
Trevor Drouin was 2-for-3 with double, four RBIs and two runs scored, while Josh McDougal singled, doubled, drove in two and scored twice.

A seven-run fourth inning proved to be the difference as Lisbon downed Boothbay in a Mountain Valley Conference contest on Friday.
Leading 5-3, the Greyhounds (10-2) jumped out to a 12-3 advantage through four. Kyle Bourget was 2-for-3, delivered a two-run double in the big inning and finished with four RBIs.
Ryley Austin led Lisbon with three hits, including a double and two runs scored. RJ Sargent (three runs), Tyler Halls (three runs), Noah Francis and Nick Lerette each popped for two hits as the Greyhounds pounded out 16 hits.
Francis, Troy Galarneau, Halls and RJ Sargent combined on the mound for 14 strikeouts, two walks and eight hits allowed.
Will Wise picked up three hits for the Seahawks (0-12) and scored a pair of runs, while Victor Burge was 2-for-3.
BRUNSWICK 2

Colton Lawrence ripped a pair of doubles and drove in three runs to lead the host Cougars past Brunswick in KVAC play at Farmington on Friday.
The Dragons, who fell to 6-7 and visit “Battle of the Bridge” rival Mt. Ararat today at 3:30 p.m., received an RBI double from Josh Goddard and an RBI single by catcher Bobby Lewis in the sixth inning to get to 4-2. Zach Meggison and Charlie Lowell combined on the mound, allowing seven hits.
Thomas Wing singled twice for Mt. Blue (7-6), while Evan Roberts earned the mound win.
RICHMOND 15
RANGELEY 1
The Bobcats put the Lakers away with an eight-run fourth inning in a Mercy Rule East- West Conference win on Friday.
Richmond received a complete game from hurler Cam Emmons, who struck out 10, walked two and allowed three hits.
Emmons doubled, singled and drove in a run, Brendan Emmons doubled and picked up three RBIs, Mike Stewart singled three times and Brady Johnson had two hits and three RBIs.

Richmond (12-1) spotted the host Seagulls a 6-0 lead through three innings before roaring back for a non-conference win on Saturday.
The Bobcats scored three runs in the fourth, and picked up five more runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to take control.
Tyler Soucy had four singles to spark the Richmond offense, with Matt Rines adding three singles, Stewart a double and single, and Curtis Anderson three singles and four RBIs.
Anderson pitched 3 2-3 innings of relief, while Zach Small closed things out for the win with three innings of his own. The duo struck out seven, walked six and permitted just four hits.
Ethan O’Donnell had three hits for Old Orchard Beach (5- 7).
Richmond heads to Searsport for a 3:30 p.m. contest today.
WISCASSET 0
WINTHROP 10
Bennett Brooks pitched and hit the Ramblers to an easy MVC win over Wiscasset on Friday.
Brooks doubled and tripled. Matt Sekarek added two singles.
On the mound, the righty struck out three.
Wiscasset fell to 4-9 and visits Boothbay today at 4:30 p.m.
