BRUNSWICK — Donna Jeannine (Hersom) Wallace, 74, died May 19 at her home in Brunswick, with her family by her side.

Wallace was born Aug. 21, 1940, in Medway, the second-youngest of 12 children of Frederick Hersom and Beatrice (Brewer) Hersom.

Donna attended Bath schools. Later, she worked at Fairchild Semiconductor, in South Portland, and Wentworth Laundromat, in Bath. She went on to work for the Bath Children’s Home for over 23 years, and also did seasonal work at L.L. Bean Inc.

She married Elisha Jethro Wallace Sr., of West Point, and the couple remained wed for 43 years.

Donna was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in Topsham. She enjoyed music, gardening, snowmobiling with her husband, and most of all, taking care of others.

She was predeceased by her husband; four sisters, Arlene Grover, Agitha Hersom, Leatrice Craney and Lorraine “Spike” Stilphen; five brothers, John Smith, Eugene Hersom, Conrad Hersom, Ronald “Buzzy” Hersom and Gordon Hersom; and a grandson, Jessie Wallace.

She is survived by her children, Tammy Wallace, of Bath, Elisha Wallace and wife, Joanne, of Woolwich, Vickie Webber and husband, Michael, of Harpswell, and Terance Wallace, of Brunswick. She is also survived by a sister, Sherry (Hersom) Alexander and husband, Lendall, of Bath, and a brother, Frederick “Fred” Hersom and wife, Sally, of Bath; eight grandchildren, Keri Elwell, Nathan Wallace, Eric Wallace, Scott Webber, Melissa Wallace, Brittany Wallace, James Black and Rebecca Black; nine great-grandchildren, Hayden, Adrian, Gavin, Addison, Mason, Matilda, Maya, Elijah and Benson; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral was held May 22 at Desmond & Son Funeral Home, in Bath.
