The undersigned, being all of the members of the Board of Selectmen for the Town of Arundel, each, individually, wish to express his/her support for the RSU 21 renovation projects and for passage of the bond question which will be before the voters on June 9. We have all carefully reviewed the scale of the proposed projects against a needs assessment and believe that the repairs and renovations proposed are without question necessary and that this is an opportune time to undertake them.
We encourage the citizens of the Town of Arundel and the citizens of the Towns of Kennebunk and Kennebunkport to support the renovation bond. Renovating these schools will spotlight these three communities as ones that recognize the importance of providing a quality education to their young people which in turn will serve to reinforce the image of them as being some of the best places in Maine to live. Please vote in favor of the renovation bond on June 9.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
