NEW LIMERICK (AP) — Maine state police say one person is facing charges for allegedly assaulting three people in a New Limerick home before crashing a stolen car as he tried to make his getaway.
Authorities say Dustin Smith was pinned beneath the vehicle after crashing it at about 10 a.m. Sunday. He was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
Police responded to the home after receiving a report that several people had been assaulted.
As police started to search for the suspect, they received reports of a car crash a short distance away. Police say Smith stole a car and crashed it when he failed to negotiate a turn. He was ejected and pinned.
Police say Smith faces charges of aggravated assault and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
