FREEPORT — The Freeport High School boys lacrosse team did everything in its power to out-battle visiting Waynflete on Tuesday in Western Maine Conference play, but the visiting Flyers came out with an 11-9 victory to give the Falcons a 6-6 final record in the regular season.

Waynflete, which finished its regular season at 9-3, received four goals and two assists from Harry Baker- Connick. He also completed the day with 12 ground balls.

For Freeport, goaltender Zac Wogan had a stand-out performance, turning away 26 shots. Sam Wogan had five goals for the hosts, while Connor Dostie added two more and an assist. Ramsey Dodge and Brady LaFrance also scored for the Falcons. Cooper Chap finished with two goals and two assists for the Flyers.

The Falcons currently occupy the No. 6 seed in the Eastern B Heal Point Standings, but bookend both No. 5 Oak Hill and No. 7 Winslow, which still have final results to be entered.

scored three goals each for the Mt. Ararat High School boys lacrosse team, but host Gardiner found the extra edge to capture a 15-10 victory over the visiting Eagles in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference play on Tuesday.

The Tigers scored eight goals in the opening quarter for an 8-3 advantage, and held an 11-5 lead after the first half. The Eagles were able to limit the hosts to just four goals in the second half, but managed just five of their own.

Chase Begin led the offensive efforts for the Tigers, scoring four goals, while Josh Caldwell (two goals, one assist) and Logan Clark (two goals) also contributed to the scoring. Spencer King had four saves in net.

For Mt. Ararat, Kyle Lussier, Kellen Radulski, Elliot Pressman, Connor Brown and Marc Abreu also scored a goal each. Charlie Gill turned away 17 shots in the contest.

The Eagles finished out the season with a 4-8 record and currently hold the No. 7 seed in the Eastern A Heal Point Standings, but awaits the final result of No. 8 Deering, which sits less than a point behind.
