BATH — Paige Daigle scored the game-winning goal for the Morse High School girls lacrosse team with 58 seconds left to play after receiving a pass from Bronwyn Morissette to give the host Shipbuilders an 11- 10 victory over Oceanside in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference play on Wednesday.

The Mariners led 6-5 at the half and pushed ahead 10-6 with 15:25 remaining. Morse then scored five unanswered goals, with the fourth coming at the 2:47 mark, tying the game with credit to Maddy Olsen.

Sophie Sreden had three goals and caused five turnovers for the hosts, while Daigle, Noa Sreden and Emma Rossetti each notched two goals.

For Oceanside, Brittany Rytky, Alexis Pine and Kelsey Brooks each scored two goals. Goaltender Bailee Cox had 16 saves in the contest for the Mariners. Cat Sener managed to turn away 10 shots for the Shipbuilders.

The two teams will meet again at Thomas College in Waterville on Saturday to compete in the KVAC championship game at 3:15 p.m.

The host Eagles finished out the regular season with a “Senior Night” victory over KVAC opponent Edward Little.

Katie Labbay and Rebecca Schuman both collected hat tricks on the night to pace the Eagles’ offense. Isa Blessington and Lauren Williams added two each, while Alyssa Curit, Emily Welch and Erin Tome contributed with one tally.

The Red Eddies saw goals from Fran Haines (four), Danielle Gagne (two) and Kaylie Valley.

Eleanor Skinner and Casi Perow combined for four saves in net for the Eagles, while Mariah Vaillancourt had 11 for Edward Little.

Mt. Ararat occupies the No. 2 seed in the Eastern A Heal Point Standings.
