LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) — A tornado that touched down in northern Colorado damaged a handful of homes and brought flooding and marblesized hail to some areas.
The Longmont Times-Call reports multiple funnel clouds were spotted north of the city Thursday evening, triggering emergency sirens. The Larimer County Office of Emergency Management says at least three homes were damaged in the town of Berthoud, about 40 miles north of Denver.
No injuries were reported.
At least two tornadoes touched down Thursday afternoon near the tiny town of Simla, about 60 miles southeast of Denver. Elbert County officials say at least four homes were damaged in the area.
No injuries were reported from that string of storms.
Forecasters had warned that the Front Range and the Eastern Plains could experience severe weather Thursday.
