AT LEFT, SINCE THE MERE POINT COLONY was founded in 1878 by Lewiston mill owners, the peninsula at the top of Casco Bay has evolved into a summer haven and a historical part of Brunswick. On Sunday, June 14, join local historians Phil Cantelon and Eileen McGuckian for a guided walk in this private colony to talk about generations of people, special places, and cottage architecture. Those taking par t should meet at 1 p.m. at the Chamberlain Museum, located at 226 Maine St. in Brunswick, where admission will be collected. Participants will carpool from there to Mere Point. The tour is limited to 20 people; call Pejepscot Historical Society at (207) 729-6606 before 4 p.m. Friday, June 12, to register. The tour is free for PHS members and $5 for nonmembers.
