BIDDEFORD — Dominic Poli, 90, of Hallandale, Florida died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 in Adventura Hospital in Adventura, Florida following a heart attack.
He was born in Biddeford on Jan. 19, 1925, the son of Michelan-gelo and Idelina Nicetta Poli.
He was educated in Biddeford Schools, graduating from Biddeford High School with the Class of 1943. He attended the University of Maine in Orono and Suffolk University in Boston. He graduated from Richmond Professional Institute of the College of William & Mary in 1951 as a physical therapist.
Mr. Poli served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War.
On Oct. 24, 1959 he married Marlene Reilly in St. Patrick’s Church in Pottsvill, Pennsylvania.
Dominic worked as a physical therapist in Roanoke, Virginia, Falls Church, Virginia and Miami, Florida. He retired in 1990.
He is survived by: his wife of 55 years, Marlene Poli; two brothers, John Poli of Biddeford, and Nicholas Poli of Kennebunkport; two sisters, Lucy Poli of Biddeford, and Sarah Jane Poli of Biddeford; and two nieces, Nancy Jane Poli, and Rita Poli of Kennebunkport.
There will be no visiting hours. A graveside committal service will be held on Friday, June 12 at noon at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
