The Top Scholars for the Wiscasset High School Class of 2015 have been released; these seniors each have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Wiscasset celebrated its graduation ceremony Thursday, June 11.

The following are the Top Scholars (in alphabetical order) for the Class of 2015:

Erika Auger was chosen by the faculty and members of the senior class to be the Daughters of the American Revolution representative for the Class of 2015. She has received numerous academic awards during her high school years including Outstanding Achievement in Spanish. She is graduating from WHS after three years of high school.

RIDGE BARNES
RIDGE BARNES
Erica has been class president, a member of Student Council, the Outing Club, the Yearbook Club, and the Volley Ball Club. She is also an active volunteer helping with the Breast Cancer Walk and the WGME School Spirit Challenge among others.

The daughter of Valerie and Larry St. Pierre of Wiscasset and Diane and Kris Auger of Lincoln, Massachusetts, Erika will attend Syracuse University in New York where she will study neuroscience.

Ridge Barnes

serves as President of the Student Council, he was a delegate to Dirigo Boys State, and is a member of the National Honor Society. His activities include Outing Club, Math Team, and Drama Club. Ridge is also involved in athletics as Captain of the Cross Country Team and a member of the Track, Swim, and Tennis Teams. He received the Elmira College Key Award and the St. Michael’s College Book Award his junior year.

Ridge is the son of Shawn Barnes of Wiscasset. He will attend the University of Maine where he will major in economics.

has received the Prudential Spirit of Community Certificate of Excellence in recognition of her volunteer work in Guatemala. As a junior, she received the Society of Women Engineers Excellence in Science and Math Award and the Wesleyan University Book Award.

Her many high school activities include Math Team and the Outing Club. She is Vice President of her class, a member of Student Council, and the National Honor Society. Maeve has been a four year member of the tennis, swim, and soccer teams serving as captain of the soccer team her junior and senior year.

Maeve is the daughter of Molly and Shawn Carlson of Wiscasset. She will major in engineering at the University of Maine.

 
 
Kayla Gordon

is a fouryear, three season varsity athlete playing as a vital member of the soccer, basketball and softball teams. She has received a variety of academic awards throughout high school in math, science, and social studies as well as the Wellesley College Book Award her junior year. She is Vice President of Student Council and has served as Treasurer of her class.

Kayla is the daughter of Matthew and Deanna Gordon of Wiscasset. She will attend Husson University where she will study accounting.

NATHAN HALEY

From helping the custodians with shoveling during the long winter months to picking up a rake for spring clean up, Nathan Haley has earned a reputation as the student who will quietly step up to offer a helping hand when he sees the need around school.

He received the Phi Beta Kappa of Maine Academic Achievement Award his junior year.

Nathan will enter the automotive program at Central Maine Community College in Auburn this fall. His parents are Lisa West of Wiscasset and Darrel Haley of Wiscasset.

Miranda McIntire

has been a leader in many of her high school activities. She has been captain of the soccer, basketball, and tennis teams during her four years of play earning many athletic awards. She has been elected Secretary and President of Student Council and this year she is serving as President of the National Honor Society. She is also a member of the Outing Club.

Miranda has received numerous academic awards in Spanish, math, and English. She was the recipient of the Williams College Book Award her junior year.

Miranda will attend Maine Maritime Academy to study international business and logistics. She is the daughter of Scott and Jennifer McIntire of Alna.

Hannah Welborn

is the Secretary of the Student Council and Vice President of National Honor Society, she is also a member of the math team, the yearbook staff, and has volunteered as a middle school mentor A member of the tennis team, she has also served as manager of the basketball and soccer team.Hannah was a Top 10 Sophomore and attended Girls State. She participated in the Keller Bloom Program at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences and received the Rensselaer Medal and the Smith College Book Award her junior year.

Hannah will study nursing at the University of Maine. She is the daughter of Mark and Kimberly Welborn of Wiscasset.
