LYMAN — Filling a second seat for the budget committee could take another election.
One candidate, Bradley Nikel, was the only candidate who ran in Tuesday’s election for the budget committee, which had two open seats. Three write-in candidates – David Dulong, Ed Lambert and Carol Lambert – each received two votes.
Town Clerk Pauline Weiss said the three write-in candidates will have seven days to state whether they want to accept the position or withdraw. If more than one candidate accepts the position, there will be a run-off election at a date set by the town selectmen, she said. If only one person accepts the position, that person will be seated on the budget committee.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
