Brad was a veteran serving three years in the Army; he worked as a mason and was retiring from Bath Iron Works. He made many friendships with the people he worked with.
Brad was a reserved man who loved spending time with his family, whether it was swimming at Sabbathday or Sebago Lake, or in the family swimming pool. Brad enjoyed the outdoors, boating, fishing, snowmobiling, archery and just spending time with the people he loved. He always loved motorcycling, and enjoyed touring around last summer on his new Spider three wheeler. A fond memory of his was seeing Jimmy Hendrix in concert as a young man.
He is survived by his six children: Carrie Nason of North Yarmouth, Jill Sanborn of Brewer, Kristina Strout of Harpswell, Missy Walsh Innes of Yarmouth, Michelle Strout of Durham and Bejay Strout of California; his sister, Gail Clark of St. Petersburg; his brother Bruce Strout of Yarmouth; his sister Brenda Mower of Auburn, and 11 grandchildren: Clare, McKaila, Molly, Sadie, Sophie, Alex, Devon, Dominik, Joshua, Jacob and Trevor.
Honoring Brad’s request, a small private graveside service was attended by his close friends and family. Brad, Bumpa, Grumpa will be greatly missed.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
