AUGUSTA — The Maine Principals Association has announced the start times for today’s and Wednesday’s baseball and softball Regional finals.
After some confusion on Monday with regards to start times in the Class B and D baseball games at St. Joseph’s College in Standish, the correct times were announced.
Barring rain, which is forecast for this afternoon, the game’s will be played at the following times:
Baseball
Today Western B — Cape Elizabeth vs. Greely, St. Joseph’s College, 3 p.m. Western D — Richmond vs. Searsport, St. Joseph’s College, 6:30 p.m. Eastern B — Winslow vs. Camden Hills, Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, 3 p.m. Eastern D — Southern Aroostook vs. Stearns, Mansfield Stadium, 6:30 p.m. Wednesday Western A — Portland vs. South Portland, St. Joseph’s College, 3 p.m. Western C — Winthrop vs. St. Dom’s, St. Joseph’s College, 6:30 p.m. Eastern C — Bucksport vs. George Stevens Academy, Mansfield Stadium, 3 p.m. Eastern A — Bangor vs. Brewer, Mansfield Stadium, 7:30 p.m.
Softball
Today Western D — Richmond vs. Searsport, St. Joseph’s College, 3:30 p.m. Western B — Yarmouth vs. Fryeburg Academy, St. Joseph’s College, 7 p.m. Eastern D — Limestone/MSSM vs. Stearns, Brewer High School, 3 p.m. Eastern B — Gardiner vs. Hermon, Brewer High School, 7 p.m. Wednesday Western C — Madison vs. Telstar, St. Joseph’s College, 3:30 p.m. Western A — Scarborough vs. Thornton Academy, St. Joseph’s College, 7 p.m. Eastern C — Mattanawcook vs. Bucksport, Brewer High School, 6:30 p.m. Eastern A — Messalonskee vs. Bangor, Cony High School, 7 p.m.
Also, the State championship schedule is as follows on Saturday: Baseball Class D — 1 p.m. at St. Joseph’s College in Standish. Class C — 3 p.m. at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor. Class A — 3 p.m. at Morton Field in Augusta. Class B — 4:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s College in Standish. Softball Class C — Noon at Brewer High School. Class A — Noon at Cony High School. Class B — 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s College in Standish. Class D — 4 p.m. at St. Joseph’s College in Standish.
Lacrosse
The high school Regional finals in boys and girls lacrosse will be played on Wednesday.
In Brunswick, the top-seeded Dragons will play host to No. 2 Messalonskee, with the game slated to begin at 6:30 p.m.
In two meetings this season, Brunswick downed the Eagles, winning 19-12 at Thomas College in Waterville and 17-13 at home.
In girls lacrosse action on Wednesday, No. 4 Freeport, coming off a hard-fought 17-16 comefrom behind win over top-seeded Morse on Saturday, visits No. 2 Yarmouth at 6:15 p.m.
In the lone meeting this year, the Falcons fell at home to the Clippers.
The winners move on to Saturday’s state championships at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland.
