PARKMAN (AP) — Law enforcement agencies from out of state are helping Maine authorities search for a murder suspect who’s been on the run for almost two weeks.
Massachusetts and New Hampshire state police are aiding Maine police, game wardens and other agencies looking for 38-year-old Robert Burton.
Burton is a suspect in the slaying of his ex-girlfriend, Stephanie Gebo, who was found in her Parkman home June 5 by her children.
Police are focusing their search in the in the Monson, Guilford and Parkman area. Burton is familiar with the woods in the region. He is considered armed and dangerous.
State Police Sgt. Darrin Crane said 60 to 70 officers were on the ground searching Wednesday. Tracking dogs and helicopters are also involved in the search.
