PITTSFIELD, N.H. — U.S. marshals in New Hampshire found a fugitive in an unlikely spot – inside a neighbor’s refrigerator.

Deputy U.S. Marshal Jeffrey White said members of the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force knocked on 41-year-old Jeffrey Nickerson’s apartment door in Pittsfield on Thursday.

Authorities said Nickerson was wanted on an outstanding warrant for violation of probation. White said Nickerson fled into a neighboring apartment. After forcing entry and conducting an extensive search of the building, marshals found Nickerson inside a neighbor’s refrigerator.
