Thank you

Thanks to all the Standish residents who supported me in my bid for a Town Council seat. It is an honor to represent you.

Getting here was the first step, one of many which I undertook after talking with you and hearing your concerns. Now is the time where we collaborate on your ideas for the town’s future. I need your input, your suggestions, and your comments. Listening to you is a big part of being a town councilor. Please contact me through my website, via email, or just pick up the phone and call: Web: www.izzyhiggins.com. Email: hig@fairpoint.net. Phone: 642-2290.

This is your town, let’s make it what you want it to be.

Thank you again for your vote and support.

Bridgton firefighters came to the rescue

We can’t express enough our gratitude for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support after the fire on Depot Street.

Our hearts are broken for Jim and Joanie and the loss of their gorgeous historic building. It has been such a joy to see the transformation of the old barn into Vivo, as they poured their heart and soul into resurrecting it. Fortunately we live in the best town around, and that has been proven again and again by sincere gestures, both big and small. Bridgtonians stick together, and together we will all see Vivo rise again, more beautiful than ever.

More than anything, we can never thank the Bridgton fire department (and all other responding towns) enough for their brave actions and quick response. Glen Garland, Todd Perreault, Tom Harriman and the rest of the crew absolutely saved the Tap House. We are only 23 feet from Vivo, and they focused all of their resources on keeping our beloved bar from burning. We are absolutely overwhelmed with gratitude and love. For them, for all of our friends who have offered help, and for everyone in town who have shown sincere concern for us.

Thank you all.

Thank you

Thank you to everyone who donated during the Pet Food Drive for the Windham Food Pantry held Saturday, June 13, at Pet Life. It never ceases to amaze me how generous people are.

We collected 234 pounds of dry dog food, 34.6 ounces of dog treats and 39 ounces of canned dog food. Also collected were 38.4 pounds of dry cat food and 33 ounces of canned cat food for a total of 279 pounds of pet food. I believe that’s the most collected since these drives began about 12 years ago.

And thank you to Pet Life for all their support with this drive and others over the years. The staff there is very instrumental in making these drives successful.

Together we are keeping the pets in Windham fed and happy. They send their thanks, too.
