The Maine Majestix under-16 and under-19 field hockey teams qualified to represent New England at the National Club Championship later this summer in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Both teams finished second in regional qualifying tournaments – the U16s at Bedford, Massachusetts, the U19s at Epping, New Hampshire.

Members of the U16 team are: Autumn Littlefield, Josie Varney, Kaitlyn Smith, Ally Corbett, Lydia Dexter and Haley Lowell of Messalonskee High; Kelsey Thaller, Maliea Kelso and Kealey Bowman of Skowhegan; Moriah Hajduk and Emily Molino of Winthrop; Hannah Minns of Mt. Blue; Kiley Nelson and Kelsey Mehuren of Belfast; Delaney Keithley of Cony; and Coaches Amy Bernatchez and Katie Bernatchez.

The U19 roster includes: Riley Field, Emily Hogan, Lydia Dexter, Ally Corbett and Haley Lowell of Messalonskee; Lilla Tilton Flood of Lawrence; Alyssa Wood, Delaney Wood and Bethany Winkin of Winslow; Delaney Keithey of Cony; Abby Walker of Scarborough; Kylie Nelson of Belfast; and Katriona Hajduk and Moriah Hajduk of Winthrop.

Barbara Pray of Winthrop used a 5-wood to ace the 122-yard 17th hole at Belgrade Lakes Golf Club on June 17. Sue Zukowski, Joyce Roma and Diane Bennekamper watched Pray’s seventh hole-in-one.

John Martin of Pittston aced the eighth hole at Country Fareways in Bowdoin. Martin used his driver for the 132-yard shot, which was witnessed by Murielle Martin.

Rick Franklin recorded his first hole-in-one, using a 3-wood for the 163-yard shot on the 18th hole at Rockland Golf Club on June 16. The ace was witnessed by Jack Novia.
