WATERBORO — Selectmen Tuesday elected Dennis Abbott as chairman of the board for the year, and Gordon Littlefield as vice chairman.
Abbott replaces Tammy Jo Girard who told fellow selectmen she’d served as chairman or vice chairman for the past four years and was looking forward to not filling either of those roles in the last year of her term.
Girard had been vice chairman this past year, but stepped into the chairman’s role in January after Chairman David Woodsome resigned as selectman, citing his responsibilities as a state senator. Littlefield stepped into the vice chairman’s role at that time.
Abbott has served as chairman on numerous prior occasions.
