SACO — Robert M. “Omar” Valliere, 59, entered peaceful eternity on June 23 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
He was the beloved son of Robert and Yvette Valliere. Bob was the adored husband of Karen Letourneau for 34 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy “Seabees” as a heavy equipment operator. The bulk of Bob’s professional career was spent working for Smith & Son Excavating and Maietta Construction.
He was a member of the Saco Yacht Club. Bob was in his glory every day he spent fishing on his boat.
He is survived by: his wife, Karen; his son, Jeffrey and his wife Jennifer; his daughter, Nikki and her partner Laurie; his sisters and their husbands, Dot and Phil Kopetski, and Joan and Warner Garland; along with extended family; and many friends who he loved dearly.
In keeping with Bob’s wishes, there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. In honor of Bob, it is suggested that you take the time to go fishing with someone you love.
Anyone wishing may make donations to Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 U.S. Route 1, Ste. 1, Scarborough, ME 04074-9925.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
