TOPSHAM — Jacob O’Neill drove in four runs on a pair of two-run singles as Highland Green downed Bethel, 7-2, in an American Legion Zone II contest on Monday at Mt. Ararat High School.
Highland Green (3-3), which dropped a doubleheader on Saturday, answered a Bethel first-inning run with three in the bottom of the first, and a four-run fourth frame put Bethel away.
Liam Brannigan went the distance for the win, throwing 112 pitches with nine strikeouts, three walks and five hits.
Kevin Carter, Brannigan and Reilly Kons each singled for Highland Green, which visits Tri-Town at Poland High School today at 5:30 p.m.
Gavin Arsenault, Alex Manning and Anthony Todd each doubled for Bethel. Tyler Frost and Logan Bartlett handled the pitching, combining on six strikeouts and four walks.
