PORTLAND — Milestone Foundation is hosting its inaugural benefit motorcycle ride, Sixty Miles for Milestone, to benefit substance abuse recovery and homeless outreach services at its Portland and Old Orchard Beach locations.
The ride will take place Saturday, Sept.12, beginning at the Milliken Street municipal parking lot in Old Orchard Beach (77 Milliken St.). Event day registration and check-in will begin at 9:30 a.m. Registration fees are $25 per motorcycle, or $30 per motorcycle with an additional passenger.
Pre-registration is encouraged and can be made online at www.MilestoneFoundation.org or by calling Nicole Holt at 775-7490, ext. 27. The first 60 registrants will receive a commemorative event T-shirt. Other event souvenirs will be available for sale at the event.

There will be food, festivities, raffle drawings and music by Tricky Britches and the Neverly Brothers. Sixty Miles for Milestone will be a “feet-up” ride: police escorts will work with event staff toward the goal of no-stop cycling ”“ no need to put one’s feet down.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
