America is, and for over 200 years has been, the place on planet earth where people of all kindreds tongues and peoples have come for a better life than any other nation in human history. This is the place where people have escaped the worst tyrants that seek to control and regulate the lives of millions by any means at their disposal, even murder. I can remember the man and his wife, with the help of friends and family built crude steel boat powered by a Jimmie rigged 3 horsepower Briggs and Stratton engine to escape the tyranny of Fidel Castro. The couple launched at night with little odds of reaching the Florida coast thru storm and shark infested waters, all for one thing, Liberty, a new life
They made it. Our government was so impressed by their efforts that they were granted asylum in the United States of America. Countless Chinese people have boarded U.S.-bound freighters to American shores to be free from Communism for a better life in a better exceptional country, The United States of America. Many lost their lives in doing so in 1993 when one of these freighters ran aground in New York Harbor. Why? Why do so many risk everything and continue to do so to get here?
The history of revolutions is usually where the poor rise up against the tyrant to gain a better life, fighting for liberty. However, did you know that our forefathers were men of great means that fought for liberty knowing full well that they would lose everything? In many cases the signers of the Declaration of Independence did if fact lose all that they had worked for and in some cases their families. They did it with courage that is not seen today among our government leaders. They did it in the name of that great Biblical precept, “prefer others before yourself.” They did it for future generations of Americans. That would be you and me. I wish that I had more space to tell you in great detail of all of this but I don’t. However if you have a computer punch into YouTube a video done by the Late Paul Harvey called “Our Lives, Our Fortune, Our Sacred Honor.” If you’re not computer savvy please have a friend or family member do it for you this Independence Day. I think you will be humbled by their personal sacrifice for you and the greatest county humanity has ever known.
We now are on the cusp of losing everything at the hands of those that are supposed to represent us, our own government. Both political parties have sold you out because they have intentionally forgotten what these brilliant men by the Grace of God have given us via of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America. If our entire delegation from Maine had any real regard for your liberty they would have impeached Obama long ago.
However, let no one tell you that it is over because We are the majority. The quislings on both sides of the isle in Washington and our state Legislators are the minority! Their Socialistic driven agendas will fail. Remember that lies are a house of cards and they always fail. We are still the U.S.A. So take a look at the Declaration and Constitution this Independence Day. Then, if so moved become a Samuel Adams/activist! For the Liberty of others. God Bless.
