Jack Nichols lined a two-run double to spark a five-run first inning Tuesday and Andrews Post went on to a 5-3 victory against Yankee Ford in an American Legion Zone 3 baseball game.

Nichols finished 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles and two RBI, and Dominic Tocci added a pair of hits for Andrews.

Daniel Marzilli got the win, pitching into the seventh inning, allowing three runs on eight hits, striking out eight and walking two.

Patrick Viola and Alex Libby each had a pair of hits for Yankee Ford.

WELLS 12, YORK 2: Liam Bell went 2 for 2 with a pair of RBI as Wells (3-5) won in six innings at home.

Cody Cousins was 2 for 4 with an RBI for Wells, which broke the game open with a five-run fifth inning.

STAPLES CROSSING 12, SACO-BIDDEFORD SAVINGS 5: Noah McDaniel lined a two-run double to spark a six-run sixth inning as Staples Crossing cruised past Saco-Biddeford Savings (6-3) at Biddeford.

McDaniel finished with a pair of hits.

GRAY/GREELY 2, SEBAGO LAKERS 1: Connor Russell allowed one run on two hits, striking out eight as Gray/Greely (5-2) edged Sebago Lakers (4-5) in five innings at Gray.

Miles Shields singled in Ryan Twitchell in the third inning, then scored on a wild pitch.
