Freeport and Durham residents were among those who attended a rally on Monday in Portland to commemorate the second anniversary of the Lac-Megantic, Quebec, rail disaster that killed 47 and destroyed a large section of the Canadian community’s downtown. Monday’s event in Monument Square was organzied by Sierra Club Maine and 350 Maine in order to draw attention for the need for more clean energy.
