BIDDEFORD — Former Biddeford resident Leona Fulton, 88, passed away on May 29, 2015 in Hudson, Florida.
She was born in Baker Lake, New Brunswick, Canada to Sylvio nd Rosanna Caron.
Leona was a gifted seamstress and craft maker. She would spend many hours working on her designs. In later years she also enjoyed making jewelry. All of her crafts and jewelry will be enjoyed for many years to come by many friends and family. One of Leona’s greatest pleasures was returning to Maine during the summer to spend time with family and friends.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents. She was also preceded in death by: her husband, John Fulton in 2011; sons, Ronald Petit in 1995, and Richard Petit in 2012.
She is survived by: Two sisters, Jeanette Jarry of Biddeford, and Gilberte and her husband Dennis Clark of New Port Richey, Florida; two brothers, Ronald Caron and his wife Paulette of Shapleigh, and Rheal Caron and his wife Aline, also of Shapleigh; one daughter, Rena Lemelin and her husband Roland of New Port Richey, Florida; three sons, Robert Petit and his wife Jeannine, and Reginald Petit and his wife Pearl, of Biddeford, and Raymond Paquin and his wife Sandy of Woodbine, Georgia.
Leona is also survived by: three stepsons, John and his wife Michelle Fulton of Billerca, Massachusetts, William and his wife Cathi Fulton or Orlando, Florida, and Robert his wife and Christine Fulton of Ball Park, Georgia; and five stepdaughters, Dorothy Ellis of Salisbury, Massachusetts, Elaine Paquet and her husband Vic of Donaldsonwille, Georgia, Shirley McGeachey and her husband Edward of Saco, Patricia Corbeil and her husband Ronald of Lyman, and Claire Jean and her husband Ray of Arundel; and daughters-in-law, Terry Petit of Biddeford, and Dorothy Petit of New Port Richey, Florida. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial mass will be held on July 11 at St. Joseph’s Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.
Arrangements were provided by Dobies Funeral Home, Holiday, Florida. Memorial donations in Leona’s name may be made to Gulfside Hospice, 6117 Trouble Creek Rd., New Port Richey, FL 34652.
