BIDDEFORD — Harvey Beaulieu Sr., 79, of Biddeford, died peacefully July 10, 2015 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
He was born Nov. 14, 1935 in Connor, a son of Paul and Elise (Parent) Beaulieu, and came here as a child.
Harvey was educated in local schools. After serving four years in the U.S. Air Force as a medic, he worked in local mills while attending Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute, studying machine tool and dye operation.
He later owned and operated Harvey’s Lunch for 28 years until his retirement in 1997.
On Nov. 24, 1982 he married Lucille Chouinard in Biddeford.
Harvey was a member of the Biddeford-Saco Lodge of Elks, where he had served five years as a trustee; he was also an organizer of the annual Elks’ cribbage tournament. He was also a member of the Eagles, the AMVETS, and St. Louis Alumni Association.
Besides card playing, Harvey enjoyed golfing and gardening; his youngest grandson, Calvin, enjoyed the rides his grandfather gave him on the mower.
He is preceded in death by: his grandson, Tyler Trottier; and two brothers, Wallace and Gilbert Beaulieu.
He is survived by: his wife of 32 years, Lucille Beaulieu; a son, Harvey Beaulieu Jr. and his companion Sharon Boissonneault; three daughters, Dianna Bergeron and her husband John, Tammy Beaulieu, and Sarah Beaulieu, all of Biddeford; two brothers, Joseph Beaulieu Carlene of Lyman, and Leo Beaulieu Micky of Saco; six sisters, Lorraine Kerrick, Gladys Beaulieu, Lorette Romboletti, all of Biddeford, Irene Beaulieu of Idaho, Jeannette Therrien of Berwick, and Annette Perkins of Kennebunk; six grandsons, Anthony Trottier, Devin Ouellette, Travis and Zachary Beason, Seth Bergeron, and Calvin Wormwood; a great-granddaughter, Evelyn Trottier; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford at a later date.
