PORTLAND (AP) — A Maine pilot has set the world record for cross-country flight after flying from Ontario, California to Portland.
WCSH-TV reports Damon Meyer, of Saco, left Ontario on Sunday at around 4:30 a.m. PST and landed in Portland at 8:50 p.m. EST.
Meyer says he had some modifications done to his plane so it could fly faster. He says he chatted with several people online to pass time during the flight.
Meyer says that within the next two years he will try to set another record for flying around the world.
