BATH — United States Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II announced Friday, July 17, that Johnny Ray Johnson, 57, of Bath, pleaded guilty on Tuesday in U.S. District Court to possession of firearms by a felon.
According to court documents, on October 13, 2013, while Johnson was on probation for a 2013 domestic violence assault felony conviction in Maine state court, his probation officers conducted a home visit and found him in possession of three firearms.
The defendant faces up to 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release. His prior felony convictions may also subject him to an enhanced sentence as an Armed Career Criminal requiring a sentence of at least of 15 years in prison and five years of supervised release. He will be sentenced after the completion of a presentence investigation report by the U.S. Probation Office.
The investigation was conducted by the Maine Department of Corrections (Probation and Parole), Bath Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
