SAM AND JACK CASHMAN were recently found reading in the children’s section, one of over twenty different genres available at Twice-Told Tales in Brunswick. With nearly 15,000 books for sale Twice-Told Tales Used Bookstore has been open just over a week. “Twice Told Tales” is a book of short stories by Nathaniel Hawthorne who is a graduate of Bowdoin College. It came to be the name of this bookstore when it prevailed in a vote hosted by Curtis Memorial Library. “This is for the community and for the library, it’s an evolving story, we love to have feedback to know what is working for the community and we will change and adapt as we go along,” said Judith Redwine, president of Curtis Friends, while talking about the future of Twice-Told Tales. Curtis Friends is the volunteer organization that supports Curtis Memorial Library. The shop opened one week after Curtis Memorial Library’s Annual Booksale. The store is run by volunteers working with Curtis Friends. All profits go to Curtis Memorial Library which supports more than sixteen events and activities such as Books on Wheels and Conversations at Curtis. Twice-Told Tales is located at 11 Pleasant St. and is open six days a week. Book donations are accepted during business hours.
