ACTON — A Sanford man has been arrested in relation to a hit and run accident early Saturday morning that killed a pedestrian.

Came-ron White, 20, of Sanford, surrendered to authorities Saturday around 9 a.m. and was charged with vehicular manslaughter, according to a written statement from York County Sheriff Bill King. White’s 2001 light blue Dodge Stratus was towed to the sheriff’s office for additional examination, according to King.

On Saturday around 12:40 a.m., York County Deputies were called to Willy’s Ale House, 1060 Route 109, Acton, for a report of a man who was fatally struck by an automobile, according to King.

Deputies found Kenneth Allen, 50, formerly of Old Orchard Beach, deceased after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, according to King.

Two witnesses reported Allen had just left the bar and was walking north on Route 109 when he was struck by a small automobile that was also traveling north, according to King. The impact caused damage to the passenger side of the vehicle and the vehicle’s mirror was left at the scene, said King.

White was released on $25,000 cash bail on Saturday.
