New Hires, Promotions and Appointments

The Center for Autism and Developmental Disorders in South Portland has hired Dr. Kelly McGuire as a child psychiatrist. She previously served on the medical staff of the New York State Psychiatric Institute and Columbia University Medical Center in New York City. She also was an assistant attending physician at New York Presbyterian Hospital. McGuire earned her medical degree from East Tennessee State University, and completed a residency in psychiatry at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Columbia University.

Gabrielle Gallucci was recently promoted to director of mission impact at Spurwink, a Portland-based provider of behavioral health and educational services. Gallucci will oversee Spurwink’s foundation and corporate giving, as well as new programming and marketing activities. She brings over 20 years of related experience to her new role.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland has named David DiNapoli as development director. He previously served with Changing Our World, a fundraising consulting group in New York City, and as a fundraising director for the Archdiocese of New York. DiNapoli holds a bachelor’s degree in theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville, in Ohio.

Sebago Technics, an engineering firm headquartered in South Portland, recently added four employees: Zack Bodkin, GIS technician; Justin Brown, survey/construction technician; Sean Pierce, project surveyor; and Curtis Thompson, transportation engineer. All four new staff members are graduates of the University of Maine.

Gelato Fiasco, a Brunswick-based maker of gourmet frozen desserts, has named Richard J. McGoldrick as chairman of its board of directors. McGoldrick is the founder and owner of Commercial Properties Inc., a Portland real estate firm, and previously served as chairman of the Finance Authority of Maine and a member of the board of Bangor Savings Bank.

Maine Medical Partners, a physician group affiliated with Maine Medical Center in Portland, recently added Dr. Sowmya Chandrasekaran to its hospital medicine practice. Chandrasekaran received her medical degree in India from Coimbatore Medical College. She completed her residency at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, New York, where she also served as chief resident.

Sarah B. Tracy, an attorney and member of the Freeport Town Council, was recently named a partner at Pierce Atwood, a law firm based in Portland. Tracy is a member of the firm’s energy practice. She previously was a staff attorney with the Maine Public Utilities Commission and also worked for another Portland law firm.

Junior Achievement of Maine, headquartered in Portland, has promoted Michelle Anderson to president. Anderson began working with the nonprofit educational group in 2010 as an intern, and most recently served as marketing and program director. In that role, she spearheaded major fundraising events and business partnerships, and helped expand the organization’s involvement with students throughout Greater Portland.

Grants

Creative Work Systems, a Portland-based provider of services for people with disabilities, recently received a $15,000 grant from the Elmina B. Sewall Foundation to expand Cultivation Works, a program that offers agricultural training and work experience. The funds will be used to improve the program’s year-round greenhouse growing capacity and other garden facilities.

Recognition

Arthur Cerullo, of North Yarmouth, in June received the Chairman’s Award for Advocacy Leadership from the American Lung Association. The award, which is given only occasionally, recognized Cerullo for more than 25 years of volunteer leadership in the association’s fight for healthy air. He has served as speaker of the ALA Nationwide Assembly, president of the ALA Maine board, a member of the association’s Northeast Charter Board and chairman of its National Advocacy Work Team. Cerullo, a senior attorney with Portland law firm Drummond & Drummond, was honored at the ALA annual conference in Chicago.
