SOUTH BERWICK — Saco & Biddeford Savings will be headed to the Legion State Tournament, but as the runner-up after falling to Staples Crossing (South Berwick) by a 14-3 score on Thursday in the Maine American Legion Zone 4 finals.

Luke Stankovich hit a grand slam for Staples Crossing in the seventh to end the game by the mercy rule.

Regionals will begin on Wednesday in Standish.
