BIDDEFORD — Martin J. Fortier, 58, of Biddeford, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, surrounded by his family.
He was born in St. Zacharie, Quebec, Canada on Oct. 11, 1956, a son of Denis and Marie Anne (Paquet) Fortier.
In 1968, he moved to the United States. He married his wife Jamie on Oct. 8, 1977.
Marty was employed as a sheet rock installer and taper for local drywall companies. In 1991, he established Fortier & Son Drywall.
He enjoyed NASCAR, restoring vintage automobiles and playing his guitar. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family at gatherings.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille G. Parent.
He is survived by: his wife of 38 years, Jamie (Macomber) Fortier; his son, Jeffrey M. Fortier and his wife Kellie; and one grandson, Alton.
He is also survived by: three sisters, Martine Chapman, Linda Boisvert and her partner Ron Chretien, and Sylvie Ward and her husband Mike; and several nieces and nephews.
