SANFORD — The city and the state will hold meetings Wednesday about a couple of street and road projects.
Sanford Public Works will host an open house at their office at 156 School Street 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day to discuss construction on Cider Hill Road and Fair Oaks Drive in Springvale.
Later that day, at 6 p.m., in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, MDOT will discuss preliminary plans for work on an approximately one-third of a mile of Route 202 north of Lafayette Street. According to a news release, MDOT is particularly interested in learning local views relative to project consistency with local comprehensive plans, discovering local resources, and identifying local concerns and issues. Anyone with an interest is invited to attend and participate in the meeting.
Accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
