During the reception, Shirley Lewis will give a talk about encaustic painting. Lewis lives in Bath and paints in oils and encaustics. Her special interest is in the world around her — both land and sea. Lewis particularly enjoys working in a small format, and is a member of: Cider painters of America, Sustaining Associate Member Miniature Artists of America, Charter member, National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C., and the Mid- Maine Art Guild. Her work will be on display in the gallery through September 7.
