LOS ANGELES (AP) — Ben Affleck did not speak to reporters Monday at an event for his HBO series “Project Greenlight,” but his longtime friend and collaborator Matt Damon said Affleck was doing “great.”
“He’s got a big smile on his face tonight,” said Damon on the red carpet.
Affleck, who wore a ring on his left ring finger, posed for photos and signed autographs at the screening in downtown Los Angeles.
Affleck and wife Jennifer Garner announced their plans to divorce in June after 10 years of marriage.
Damon and Affleck are executive producers on “Project Greenlight,” which follows the journey of aspiring filmmakers. Season four premieres Sept. 13.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
