BRUNSWICK — Lillian Lorena Leverone, 89, died on Thursday evening, Aug. 6, 2015, at Mid Coast Hospital.

Lillian was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 25, 1926, the only child of Llewellen and Lillian Bolton Rimmer. She graduated from Milton High School, and as a young adult was employed at H.P. Hood in Charlestown. On June 24, 1950, she married Alfred Emmanuel Leverone and resided in Somerville, Massachusetts. In 1959, the couple built their home in Harvard, Massachusetts, where Lillian raised her two children before going back to work as office manager at Gates Insurance Agency, later Gates and Williamson. In 1983, the couple retired and moved to Wells, Maine, before relocating to Brunswick in 1995.

Lillian was active in the community her entire adult life, running for elective office twice in Harvard and volunteering at Notre Dame High School in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, in the 1970s and 1980s. Later, she performed volunteer work for many years at Parkview Adventist Medical Center in Brunswick.

Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Alfred in 1998. She is survived by her daughter Lori Boulay (husband, Art) of Brunswick, son Allan (wife, Susan) of Londonderry, NH, three grandchildren, Stefanie, Kristin and Craig, and one great-granddaughter, Arianna.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 11 from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church-All Saints Parish, Pleasant Street, Brunswick.

Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery in Brunswick.
